This booklet is written to familiarize the reader with the basic concepts of Islam and the main glossaries and expressions used by Muslims throughout the world. It is mainly written for non-Muslims to familiarize them with the basic concepts of the Islamic faith and Islamic terminology, but it can also be helpful for Muslims as well.
Although it is very hard to explain Islam in one book, there is always a need for a short document on Islam for the readers who do not have the time to read larger books. Those who like to peruse further reading about Islam in English will find the recommended books at the end of .this booklet very helpful.
This manuscript is also designed to build and to establish a bridge of understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims. It is only through communication and proper exchange of information that people will understand the culture, faith, and creed of one another. It is written with that understanding as an eye-opener to both groups Of Muslims and non-Muslims.
This manuscript has been prepared in three chapters, namely: ABC’s of Islam, Islamic Glossaries, and Islamic Expressions. We pray to Almighty Allah (God) to aCCept this humble effort and to forgive our shortcomings.
