Family Values in Islam – (English/Arabic) – (PB)

Family is the cornerstone and the foundation for a society. If and when a family is built on solid and stable foundation, then the will be solid and stable as well. A family is society considered a family when it is composed of its integral and when it is based duties and components, on responsibilities. The integral components are: husband, wife, children, grandparents from both husband and wife, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces from both sides of husband and wife, and many more. All of these constitute a family with rules and regulations, as well as with duties and responsibilities. As far as duties and responsibilities are concerned, they are related to marriage, divorce, khul’ah, custody, inheritance, fostering (not adoption), burial, zakat, charity, family counselling, and so on. This particular book cannot deal with all these subjects in one document. However, this book deals with the following subjects: Family in Islam, Khutbatun Nikah, Contraception, Parent & Children Relationships, Family Problems: Causes and Solutions, UN Conference 1994 on Population and Development, Adoption and Fostering, Current Issues of Halal Foods, Choosing Wrong Food Products, Food and Overpopulation, Food of Heaven and Hell, Securing an Easy Divorce, Islamic Arbitration, A sudden Tragedy in the Family, Neighbors, Respect of Parents, The Elderly, Orphans, A Message of Condolence other related materials. It should be stated here that Chapter three (3) about contraception has been written by both the author and Dr. Mohammad Shari, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. They presented the medical and religious aspects of family planning as well as birth control. This book is among the series of books that Al-Quran Foundation of Milwaukee under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Shafi, M.D., has agreed to help the Foundation for Islamic Knowledge of Illinois to publish. It is the hope and wish of the author that some more individuals, groups, organizations or foundations would come forward to sponsor any of the literature to be published and distributed.
