SURAH YASEEN THE HEART OF QURAN (PB)

PREFACE
This is my attempt to take our community to the second phase of their cultural achievement. For over 300 years the Muslim community of the Cape and South Africa were engaged in a struggle for religious and cultural survival. The main thrust was the learning of the religious culture and the reading and memorization of the Quran. We have to proceed into the our educational process and that is the second phase of understanding of the various Quranic recitals like the Surah Fatihah, Surah Ya-seen, Surah Mulk, the three Quls, Ayat-ul-Kursee and others. This would serve as a mubarak beginning in this venture. I pray and trust that my Muslim brothers and sisters of the Umm ah will take up this duty and responsibility as our forefathers did. May Allah shower the blessings of Surah Ya-seen on all those who will apply the hadee of the Prophet in their daily lives.
“Whosoever heard a message from me and conveyed it as he heard it, the receiver of the message might be more sensitive towards it than the hearer.”
I deem it an honour to declare that at the end of this millennium this community would have suCCeeded in its struggle for the survival of its religion and culture.
I must make mention of the tireless work of my wife, Alawea, who spent sleepless nights at her computer typing out the manuscript. My gratitude goes to H. Ebrahim Toefy who so selflessly worked in the editing of this manuscript. I am humbled by all those noble Ulema whose sources I tapped to make this work a reality.
